It’s been a long time between RAVs here at Newsvine. Recent and not-so-recent arrivals may not even know what the top right stem of Vineacity stands for. The description reads:

Dowser has had many exceptional moments of greatness here, from her ongoing 'Hick in New York City' series to her recent articles on mineral collecting in Kentucky's Flourospar District. Her work has not gone unnoticed - Newsvine still receives RAV nominations even when they're not given out for long stretches, and many have been for Dowser, including these two recent published ones.
When new Viners ask staff for examples of how to use Newsvine as an author, Dowser is often the example we give. Her writing is thoughtful, accessible, informative, and fun to read. One of the timeless references at Newsvine Global Headquarters is 'The Thousands Test' when discussing types of users and specific users. The test is: would a thousand more of (user in question) make Newsvine a better place?
